Welcome to HaDiKo

This is the website of the Hans-Dickmann-Kolleg in Karlsruhe. The HaDiKo is the biggest self-administered student hostel in Germany. Students of the University Karlsruhe (TH), the University of applied sciences and economics Karlsruhe (TuW) and the university of cooperative education Karlsruhe and other in Karlsruhe registered students are living here.

Choices and opportunities

The HaDiKo has manifold offers - also to get involved in the self-governing. Beside things for the everyday live like washing-machines, Internet and telephone there are also workshops for wood, metal (to repair your bike) and electronics as well as a computer pool and rooms for making music. Please also refer to OffersInfos and Application.

The dormitory

The HaDiKo (short for Hans-Dickmann-Kolleg) consists of five houses. In each of them there are living between 140 and 180 people on floors of 13-15 people. These floors each use a large kitchen and a bathroom together. But this is rarely a problem as students are working and studying at completely differnt hours.

All in all there are 999 rooms in HaDiKo, which comes near to a small village. So there will always be someone interesting; HaDiKo is a perfect place to make contacts (i.e. through activity in the self-administration).

We have here several groups whom you can join (see here). I.e. there is a bike workshop and the HaDiNet that supplies the HaDiKo with Internet via a fiber-optical connection. More to the self-administration you can finde here):
